{"id":234,"date":"2019-05-20T14:02:38","date_gmt":"2019-05-20T03:02:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.otways.com\/?p=234"},"modified":"2019-05-20T14:02:38","modified_gmt":"2019-05-20T03:02:38","slug":"to-hell-with-pell-and-industrial-agriculture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.otways.com\/?p=234","title":{"rendered":"To hell with Pell and Industrial Agriculture"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that we have heard the sordid details, to hell with Pell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can\u2019t blame god or the devil for a paedophile church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I suppose the only reason we care is the way the churches&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">conduct so much of Australia\u2019s education and welfare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May I suggest we stop idolising the churches, and bombs and jet fighters<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and spend up big on creating a truly modern, secular society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re also collectively responsible for choking to hideous death<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">millions of live fish, sheep and cattle because we can\u2019t see&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">how to feed, clothe or house ourselves<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;without resorting to stupid industrial agricultural policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We know we shouldn\u2019t put rice paddies and cotton farms in deserts&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">or exploit rivers and aquifers to irrigate them; or log beautiful rainforests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But neither should we permit squalid shipping of live animals overseas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">May the grey nomads pause as they wander around&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and spend a little time and effort to learn from our first peoples;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">how to respect our neighbours and understand our natural &nbsp;boundaries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Now that we have heard the sordid details, to hell with Pell.
