Perched as we are in glorious isolation on the seaward\u00a0edge of stunning forest and the Great Ocean Road\u00a0we have long passed days that were centred on the\u00a0fishing and the whaling industries. Logging and agriculture\u00a0are similarly passing their prime.<\/p>\n
But we are more than a sleepy retirement village.\u00a0Along with recurrent risk of fire in summer and our\u00a0glum long winters we have a thriving economy\u00a0that fairly bounces off tourism, domestic and international.<\/p>\n
We are steeped in the arts and culture and our\u00a0education and health services are unique.<\/p>\n
